ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate/Strenuous
DURATION: 5 hours
SAN CRISTOBAL HIGHLANDS TOUR MAP:

ITINERARY DETAILS:
Our guided bike tour takes you to a different part of the highlands than you see on the standard car tour. We meet in our office at the designated time. We will load the bikes into a truck and drive 20 minutes to El Junco crater. We climb the stairs to visit the freshwater lagoon where we can observe birds such as frigates and ducks. We then set off by bike to La Soledad, enjoying the picturesque scenery. We visit a private farm and a beautiful viewpoint (to be confirmed depending on availability). We continue to the first human settlement on the island, El Progreso. Then we pass through the coffee-growing region of El Socavón. The final stretch downhill to town is along the paved bike path.
This itinerary may be customized to include Puerto Chino beach and La Galapaguera tortoise conservation center. See “Highlands Tour by Car” for more details.
