This is our list of popular restaurants in Galápagos, with a disclaimer that staff turnover is high and ingredients are sometimes not available due to cargo issues. Be sure to read our post about the unique culinary options available on the islands.

  • The Pier (local seafood; the house ceviche is excellent or try canchalagua aka chitón, a Galápagos mollusk)
  • Iska at Golden Bay Hotel (wood-fired pizzas; house specialties with quality ingredients)
  • Darwin’s Secret at Hotel Indigo (high quality everything)
  • Pahoe (limited menu with a focus on smoked/wood-fired flavors)
  • Midori (best sushi, plus Japanese-style dishes along with standards like burgers and chicken strips)
  • Post Office (fun waterfront setting to try Golden Prague draft beers from the mainland although the food is hit and miss)
  • Celebration (world fusion)
  • Umami (world fusion; be sure to check out the back patio for the beautiful murals)
  • Cafe San Cristobal (best ice cream & gelato plus a food menu with just about everything)
  • Giuseppe’s (Italian, hearty pizzas)
  • Vulkan (best beef in town – steak, burgers, etc.; they also have draft beers from Cherusker brewery on the mainland)
  • Rosita’s (traditional Ecuadorian dishes)
  • KachiTanta (best bakery)
  • Ranti (best coffee)

If you want to dine with the locals, try DeGusta, Lucky, or El Rincon de Sebas, where you can sample Ecuadorian-style dishes at budget-friendly price points. You can also eat lunch on the second floor of the Mercado Municipal.

  • Booby Trap (pizza)
  • The Mangrove (Mediterranean fusion)
  • The Beach (huge menu with just about everything but they don’t take credit cards)
  • Pan y Vino (gourmet sandwiches)

  • Albita Grill (Ecuadorian food served at two locations on the same block, #2 is more upscale)
  • La Casa Del Asado (Ecuadorian-style grilled meats in a very casual setting)
  • ZAROA Brewery (no food available; try the beers brewed with local ingredients)
The Point

Santa Cruz Restaurants

  • The Point (seafood on the waterfront; take a water taxi from the main pier)
  • Almar (seafood on the waterfront)
  • Isla Grill (grilled dishes on the waterfront)
  • Bahia Mar (seafood on the waterfront)
  • Galapagos Deli (pizza, sandwiches, ice cream, desserts)
  • 1835 (best coffee)
  • Santa Cruz Brewery (great place to try local beers)
  • Nazca Esencia (Peruvian dishes)
  • Anca Pizzeria (best pizza)
  • FRAFRE Gastrobar (burgers plus a variety of international dishes)
  • Agave Bistro (lots of vegetarian options)
  • Finch Bay (local flavors with global inspiration, special occasion, reservation recommended, take a water taxi from the main pier)
  • Lava Lounge (in the highlands, 5-course dinner by reservation only)

If you want an open-air, communal dining experience with a mix of locals and tourists, don’t miss the Calle de Los Kioskos (Charles Binford between Av. Baltra and Gral. Rodriguez Lara).
